Since you are in the mountains by a lake/river there are bugs. An SUV is suggested but if you take it slow, it really isn't that bad.
Auberge couleurs de france Patch#
It is in the middle of nowhere and there is a rough patch of road that leads to it. These are the reasons we return but here are some things you need to know. And they have more than enough life jackets to go around. So you can paddle boat or take a motorized boat for a ride. And they usually offer 3 hours of activities with their groupon. and finally, they always have pedal boats and canoes which are fun. The trip is a joint effort- I will explain below. You can see the stars.how can it get any better right? 7. They have great annual groupons that makes a weekend away much more affordable.
Auberge couleurs de france plus#
It's privately owned and the owner is always on property- We LOVE to support small businesses so this is a huge plus for us.
If you looking for wifi or to watch movies, this isn't the place for you. It's a quiet, get away from technology kind of place. They allow dogs- when you have an 86lb dog that isn't allowed in most places, finding a place that allows them is priceless. We started visiting this property back in 2014 and we would return over and over again. All in all, a Canadian version of a « Mont St-Michel » in the middle of the Petite-Nation!… Everything reminds you of a cathedral where your better half pontificates the words of love, where the French accents you hear around from its High Priest sound like the invitation to the “plaisir de la chair” you wouldn’t need anyway, where you wouldn’t envy the ceiling from the Sixtine Chapel since the night sky paints a different immensity calling for complete contemplation and where the closest you’ll get to a confession booth is the room you’ll sleep in, whispering all of the sins of love in your lover’s ears so you could kneel begging for more of the same punishment. Needless to say it left a very sour taste in our mouths upon departure and we will definitely not return for that very reason.…Įverything feels as if you were in an Oasis from a Hollywood scenario: the room from another era, facing a lake and mountains, the sounds of the forest (including the buzz from the ever more hungry flies), the quietness of a place suspended in time, the welcoming from the European hosts, the food you’d expect from a high class restaurant from the south of France. If it were only one thing, you could think that it was an honest mistake, but all of this together makes you wonder.
Then they charged us double the taxes (e.g., 10% GST instead of 5%!!!) (unfortunately, we noticed this too late). Then we were charged for a hot breakfast even though we did not have one (they did take that off the bill after we pointed it out to them). First of all, we were quoted one price for the room when we reserved over the phone and charged a much higher price upon checkout under the pretense that the room we had was a more expensive one even though we were never told about it. What really bothered us though was that we were overcharged on just about everything. However, we felt that at $35 plus tax and tip, the set-menu dinner (the only option) was overpriced and very mediocre in quality. The location and auberge itself are just beautiful and the rooms very cozy and comfortable.
We recently spent a weekend at the Auberge.
